Haeran Ryu delivered one of the standout performances of the 2026 BMW Ladies Championship, making two eagles in a bogey-free second-round 64 to take control of the leaderboard at Pine Beach Golf Links.
HAENAM, South Korea — Haeran Ryu produced an exceptional display of scoring during Friday’s second round of the BMW Ladies Championship, reaching 13-under-par after 36 holes and opening a two-shot advantage over her nearest challengers.
The South Korean golfer began the day at five-under following an opening 67 but surged to the top with two eagles and four birdies.
Her closing birdies at the 17th and 18th completed an eight-under 64, one of the best rounds of the tournament.
Ryu’s Two Eagles Transform the Leaderboard
The decisive feature of Ryu’s round was her performance on the par-five holes.
She recorded eagles at the second and sixth, making significant gains while keeping bogeys off her scorecard.
Her accurate approach play helped create further scoring opportunities, and consecutive closing birdies ensured she finished the day with momentum.

Kim matched Ryu’s 64, while Coughlin recorded a six-under 66.
Karis Davidson and Julia Lopez Ramirez shared fourth place at 10-under, three shots behind the leader.

How the Championship Eventually Ended
Despite Ryu’s impressive second round, she was unable to convert her advantage into victory.
The South Korean extended her lead to four strokes after Saturday’s third round but struggled to maintain that position on Sunday.
Japan’s Yuri Yoshida produced a final-round 68 to claim her first LPGA Tour victory at 17-under-par.
Ryu finished one stroke behind alongside Hye-Jin Choi, both at 16-under.
The result gave Yoshida her breakthrough title and left Ryu reflecting on a week that included exceptional scoring but ended in a narrow defeat.
Ryu’s second-round 64 remains one of the championship’s memorable performances, even though the eventual winner came from behind.
